Ilya has been making music as long as he has made films, with a host of albums made over the years since his school days (most of them unreleased publicly). With key influences arising from the disciplines of Psychedelia, Musique Concrete, Ambient and Classical, Ilya’s work has a strong and defined experimental quality to it, with each album built as an atmospheric experience for the listener. Ilya combines a huge range of acoustic and electric instruments with a plethora of pedals, effects and novel recording methods, all captured on analogue tape decks to allow for even further tinkering and to give his work a unique, palpable sound. Ilya is as much an inventor as he is a composer, continually focused on discovering new breakthroughs that will broaden his ever-widening catalogue of sounds and effects.
