TV Pilot: Professional Puncher

With violence no longer an option in modern society, how do you settle scores when you’ve been treated unfairly? What you need is a Professional Puncher.

This outrageous satirical mockumentary follows Rodney, a bloke taking the word “hitman” to its most literal conclusion, as he drags a camera crew on a wild tour of his anarchic professional career. Along the way we learn that, despite Rodney’s gruffness and against-the-grain attitude, what lies behind those famous fists is a warm heart and a desire to reconcile the past.

This is a pilot penned by B. Thomas Mitchell, one of several collaborations with F&B. The script has the energy of ‘The Office’ or ‘Spinal Tap’, and works as a send-up of the gruff, grizzled “anithero” archetype: our antihero is a slightly dim Bristolian with a tendency for tall tales. The Bristolian part is key: we want to shed light on this weird and amazing city throughout the runtime, and put forward its unique (and sometimes hilarious) character.

We have cast our main actor, gathered key crew, and filmed and completed a promotional “proof of concept” video, which we are using to secure funding. If this concept is of interest to you, and you want to know how you can support its creation, then get in touch at info@frininandbok.co.uk
